Claude Max and Team plans now include monthly API credits: who gets what and how to claim
Max and Team subscribers can now claim monthly credits for the Claude API. Here's how much each plan gets, what the credits cover, and how to link them.

If you pay for a Claude Max or Team plan, you can now claim monthly credits for the Claude Platform, to build Claude into your own apps and agents through the API. That's according to a new article in Anthropic's help centre. Free, Pro and Enterprise plans are not eligible.
How much each plan gets
| Plan | Monthly credit |
|---|---|
| Max 5x | US$100 |
| Max 20x | US$200 |
| Team, Standard seats | US$20 per seat |
| Team, Premium seats | US$100 per seat |
| Discounted Team plans (Nonprofit, Scientists) | US$20 per Standard seat, US$100 per Premium seat |
On Team plans, all seats are pooled into one monthly balance, capped at US$500. Anthropic's example: a team with three Standard and two Premium seats gets US$260 a month.
Who can claim
- Your Max or Team subscription must be active and in good standing.
- You must have been on an eligible plan for seven days.
- On Max, the subscriber claims. On Team, a Primary Owner or Owner claims for the whole team.
- You don't need a payment card on the Claude Platform.
How to claim
- On claude.ai, open Settings > Billing (Max) or Organization settings > Billing (Team).
- In the API credits section, choose Link organization.
- Pick the Claude Console organization that should receive the credits, or create one.
- Review the credit terms and confirm.
Choose carefully: you can link only one Console organization, and you can't change it yourself afterwards. Anthropic suggests signing in to the Console with the same email you use on claude.ai.
What the credits cover
They work with the Claude API (including the Messages and Batches APIs), the Console Playground, Claude Managed Agents and the Claude Agent SDK. They don't cover interactive Claude Code, extra usage on your plan, or Claude on Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI or Microsoft Foundry.
The rules worth knowing
- Credits refresh each billing cycle and don't roll over.
- They're spent before any credits you've bought.
- Everyone with an API key in the linked organization shares the balance. Team owners can set workspace spend limits in the Console.
- When they run out and you have no other credits, API requests stop until next month. Nothing is charged to your Claude plan.
You can see your credits and their expiry date under Settings > Billing in the Claude Console.
