MACC and police to investigate MyEG and Zetrix AI over RM314 million in JPJ revenue
MACC received an official complaint on 7 October and will work with the police on the RM314 million in JPJ revenue that MyEG and Zetrix AI did not hand over. Here is the background and how to renew your road tax now.

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will work closely with the police to investigate an issue involving My E.G. Sdn Bhd (MyEG) and its parent company, Zetrix AI Bhd. The investigation follows the Transport Ministry's disclosure that RM314 million in government revenue collected by the two companies on behalf of the Road Transport Department (JPJ) was not handed over to the ministry.
What MACC said
In a statement on Tuesday, 13 October, MACC said it received an official complaint on the matter on 7 October and was aware that the police were already investigating. The two agencies will review and share information based on offences that fall under police jurisdiction.
"The police will provide any information indicating elements of corruption for further action by MACC," the statement said, according to The Star.
MACC urged the public not to speculate or spread unverified information that could jeopardise the investigation, and welcomed information from anyone. The commission said it would investigate independently, fairly and in accordance with the law.
Where the RM314 million comes from
On 2 October, JPJ announced that MyEG and Zetrix AI would be suspended as its revenue collection agents from 12.01am on 5 October. JPJ director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli cited compliance with the agreement's terms and unmet obligations, RTM reported.
On 5 October, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the two companies had not handed over RM314 million in revenue collected between 19 May and 30 September 2026. He said the ministry and JPJ held four engagement sessions and issued 35 reminder notices from May. On 21 August, the company handed over a RM231 million cheque dated 30 September, but the bank did not process it on the company's instruction.
Loke said the services would not be restored until the arrears are paid in full, and that the ministry and JPJ would take legal action to recover the money. According to The Edge Malaysia, he said additional conditions would apply even after payment, including having collections credited directly into the government's account.
What Zetrix AI said
Zetrix AI, formerly known as MyEG Services Bhd, said it had submitted a proposed solution to the government. In a Bursa Malaysia filing on 7 October, after the exchange demanded a direct answer, the company confirmed that it owed JPJ RM314 million for the May to September period, The Edge reported. It said it could not yet say when the matter would be resolved.
Its shares closed at eight sen that day, down about 90% since a sell-off began in late August, according to The Edge.
How to renew your road tax now
JPJ transactions can no longer be done through MyEG. JPJ's 2 October statement, as reported by SoyaCincau and RinggitPlus, lists these road tax renewal channels:
- The MyJPJ app and the JPJ public portal (private and e-hailing vehicles)
- JPJ counters
- JPJ kiosks (private vehicles)
- JPJ mobile counters (private and commercial vehicles)
- Pos Malaysia (private vehicles)
- Puspakom (private and de-controlled commercial vehicles)
Driving licences (CDL) can be renewed through MyJPJ, the JPJ public portal, JPJ counters, kiosks and mobile counters, and Pos Malaysia counters.
Zetrix AI said transactions made through MyEG before 5 October had been fully processed. RinggitPlus reminds motorists that road tax can only be renewed while the vehicle's insurance or takaful cover is still valid.
What happens next
Loke said the Transport Ministry will add new features to the MyJPJ app next month so that more people deal with JPJ directly, The Star reported. MACC did not give further details of the investigation.
