BAP 2027 rises to RM200 per pupil and will be distributed through schools. Form Six students get a RM2,500 living allowance, the same as matriculation students.
Form Six students will get a living allowance of RM2,500 each next year, the same rate matriculation students receive. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced it while tabling Budget 2027 on 9 October. About 90,000 students nationwide are expected to benefit. The Bantuan Awal Persekolahan (BAP), the early schooling aid, goes up from RM150 to RM200 per pupil.
The Education Ministry gets an allocation of almost RM69 billion in 2027, Bernama reported.

BAP 2027: RM200 per pupil, distributed through schools
BAP is raised from RM150 to RM200 per pupil, with an allocation of RM1 billion. A family with four children in school will get RM800 to prepare for the 2027 school session.
The aid will be distributed through schools. Anwar said this gives parents a chance to meet their children's teachers face to face.
Other measures for schools
- The Tabung Sumbangan Wang Awam Sekolah, the school public donations fund, is being improved so that donations from parents, alumni and the public can be used for school operations, facility repairs, equipment and student programmes. Cash donations qualify for a tax deduction of up to 10 per cent of aggregate income.
- The hiring of teaching assistants is extended to 200 primary schools with high enrolment, so that teachers are less burdened with clerical work. Any further roll-out will be done in stages after an evaluation.
