AKYC 2026 "Inner Code", Islamic youth camp in Terengganu opens registration

Al Khaadem Youth Camp (AKYC) is back for the year-end school holidays. The Islamic youth camp will run from 21 to 26 December 2026 in Terengganu, with the theme "Inner Code: Human Protocol", and is open to participants aged 10 to 18.

According to the organisers, AKYC has been running since the 1980s. Over more than 40 years, the camp has built up more than 2,000 alumni from more than 10 countries.

This year's theme, what guides your choices

The theme Inner Code refers to the inner principles that shape how a person thinks, chooses and acts. The organisers write that young people today are surrounded by the influence of friends, social media and trends. Before they decide where their lives are heading, they need to know what should guide them. For a Muslim, that foundation starts with the Qur'an and Sunnah.

Participants will go through a journey called RISE:

The organisers stress that the aim is not perfection by the end of the camp. The aim is for every participant to go home with a clearer understanding of themselves and of what matters.

What happens at the camp

Days are filled with outdoor activities such as river trekking, survival training, a tele-match, a treasure hunt and an explorace, followed by discussion sessions. At night, participants attend religious talks with asatizah (religious teachers). This year's list of trainers includes Dato' (Dr.) Sheikh Hussain Yee.

Male and female accommodation is kept separate, in campus-style rooms with toilets and bathrooms. The camp is run by FOQUS AKY Sdn Bhd, with experienced trainers and marshals supervising all activities.
