Bersatu's 11 assemblymen in Selangor will sign a pact resembling a confidence and supply agreement (CSA) with the state government before the 2027 state budget is tabled, expected in November, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said, FMT reported on Thursday, 8 October 2026.

The terms are still being negotiated. "The talks are not over yet," Amirudin said.

What the pact covers

According to FMT, the deal is modelled on the 2021 agreement between the Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob government and Pakatan Harapan (PH). It covers all 11 Bersatu assemblymen, who would become government backbenchers.

The Selangor assembly has 56 seats. PH holds 32, followed by Bersatu (11), PAS (10), BN (2) and one independent.

Not everyone agrees

Permatang assemblywoman Nurul Syazwani Noh said she had not been told about the pact, and that the Selangor Bersatu leadership should not have decided without consulting every assemblyman.

Bersatu Youth chief Hilman Idham, meanwhile, dismissed claims that the party wants to team up with PH, FMT reported on 10 October.

What's next

The Selangor government wants the pact signed before the state budget is tabled in November.
