Hamzah: Don't burden Petronas, TNB and KWAP with political decisions
Opposition leader Hamzah Zainudin told the government not to burden Petronas, TNB and KWAP with political decisions in the Budget 2027 debate.

Opposition leader and Parti Wawasan Negara (Wawasan) president Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin urged the government not to burden Petronas, Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) and KWAP with political decisions, FMT reported on Monday, 12 October 2026.
The Larut MP was speaking in the Budget 2027 debate in the Dewan Rakyat. He called the three the country's "golden geese".
Hamzah's points
- Petronas: He cited more than RM163 billion in Petronas dividends to the government projected for 2023 to 2027.
- TNB: He said the decision to raise the electricity bill protection threshold for household users had cost TNB RM150 million.
- KWAP: He questioned the Retirement Fund's role in development projects, since its job is to earn safe returns for pensioners.
Wawasan in Melaka
Wawasan is also preparing for the 14 November Melaka election. Secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah said the party wants at least the Bemban and Sungai Udang seats, with the final number still being negotiated with Perikatan Nasional (PN) partners, The Star reported on 11 October. Wawasan also has a fallback plan in case a court decision stops PN from using its name and logo in the election.
Hamzah was sacked from Bersatu in February and announced Wawasan on 13 June 2026.
